8 track player

I was wondering if anyone knows of a place that can repair or replace my original 8-track player for my 72 Ambassador???
It sounds like it is playing, but no audio. The radio and speakers work fine. The fuse is fine. Any other suggestions??
Thanks.

My 8 track was in the same condition when I got my A/S.Mine was in a side cabinet that fliped down. I thought it was prety kool to have an old tape player.I took it apart and found that it had a rubber type belt that drove the tape player. I cleaned the pully where the old band had roted away and used a rubber band to get it to run.I put a tape in it and I was listening to Crobsy,Stills&Nash! One problem, the old tapes began to fall apart and some were just plain bad sounding, somethings from the 70's are just better left to our memories. A new am/fm/cd player is on my list.

I've got an 8 track from a 75 Ambassador if someone needs one.

But I don't even know if it works as I have no 8 track tapes to test it with.

8 Track

I had a 8 Track in my 29ft. 1977 International, took it to car toys and had it replaced with a A real nice set up. I did not change the speekers. I had them put in a cd player and changer also XM satalite raido. I like to get off of the beaten path and with the XM satalite Radio I can listen to what I want, when I want. Works great. The thing is you have to invest a little money in it.

Sadly, I have to agree. I picked up a nice, home stereo 8-track player at a yard sale specifically to dub a pile of old 8-track tapes I had onto CD.

After cleaning the unit, and installing new belts I sat down and went through every tape in the pile. None of the tapes worked well enough to do anything with.
