2019 Tommy Bahama FB27 - Cable Issues

Hi,

Our first "shake down" excursion last weekend was interesting. Original owner said that they always ran the park's coaxial cable direct from the pedestal to the back of the main TV (bypassing the outside of the coach connection).

For giggles, we hooked it up as it should be. Figured out that the green light had to be on to take out the antenna, told the TV to connect to cable, did channel search, supposedly it showed there were channels...but we could never access them.

Could the exterior connector that you can plug in TV or satellite be bad? We trying to figure out how to resolve, but I'm at a loss. All suggestions appreciated!

Cable TV

It is possible that you have a bad connection but I would try to turn off the antenna booster (green light Off) first. My understanding is that the booster signal is incompatible with the cable signal which results in the TV remaining blank.

I would also take off the cable plates both outside and inside and make sure the cable ends are completely screwed in and that there is enough copper sticking out of the coax end to make a connection.

If there are no issues you see there it could be a bad cable. It does happen especially in construction.

There is a piece of equipment you can buy to test the cable for resistance to make sure it is good. Only $20.
