Funny, they don’t seem to say how it works. Danfoss compressor? Given it’s pure 12vdc that seems likely. If so, sounds interesting. Have you looked at Vitrifrigo as well?

We had settled on the Vitrifrigo then saw this one while looking at Furrion oven/range. The price was better and it's a little larger. But since it's so new not much info on it.

New Furrion refrigerator

I am also very interested in this refrigerator as my experience with absorption fridges has not been very good. I am doing a complete makeover of a 95 34’ and I want to install a 10 cubic foot 12v fridge. No problem with 12v operation as I will have lithium batteries with lots of solar on top. I have a couple of small 12v compressor fridges, a 37 qt Alpicool in my car and a 65 qt Dometic in my truck and they work fine although you need solar to power them.

Not much experience with this new model. It looks like Forest River uses it in some of their RV’s. Their on line forum seems negative as it either kills the battery prematurely when camping without hookups or when plugged in, it runs the converter all the time and it is noisy.

I have studied the installation manual and specifications and there are some sections that don’t make much sense so I question the capability of the manufacturer. For example, they say nothing on their website about the warranty. Also when operating on battery only, it sounds like they don’t want you to operate it all the time as your batteries won’t last as long, even though this will cause the fridge to heat up.

One interesting spec was the noise level of 43 dB. This is actually louder than the noise level for the minisplit heat pump that I am planning on installing. It’s noise level is only 36 dB.

Here are some interesting sections from the installation manual. What do you all think?

New Furrion refrigerator

I really don’t comprehend or agree with their recommendation when operating the fridge in “offline mode”. It is like this recommendation was written before solar power and lithium batteries. Unless I am misinterpreting their recommendation, they want you maintain the fridge temperature at 45.5 degrees unless it is hot, then if that is the case don’t operate it 100% of the time. Of course this will result in the fridge heating up. These operating recommendations would not give me any confidence in the manufacturer’s capabilities.

Other than the manufacturers operating guidelines, this appears to be a good fridge if you have adequate battery power to operate it. Especially when you compare the price to the Isotherm and the Vitrifrigo marine fridges.

Of course this is a new design and we will have to wait and see how reliable it is.

Me, I'd go with a danfoss compressor-based fridge from Vitrifrigo or a company like that.

I would not go with a danfoss unit, I work for Freightliner, and they use indel fridges. The danfoss units modules fail all the time. This is the same module you speak of
