I have a newer (2007) dometic 2 way fridge. This week it stopped working, and will not come back on. In the past It has turned off, the check light was on, and was able to restart before. This time no dice, it has electric power (tested outlet) has propane and battery is charged. All other appliances are working. What does anyone know about this, I did a search on the forum and did not find much. Thanks John
So I have not received any "help" in fixing this problem. I already had scheduled an appointment at Colonial for some quotes on work to be done. They will look at the fridge also. So now my question is do I repair a ten year old fridge and it keeps going for at least 5 more years, or bite the bullet and buy a new one/ I also have an original RM70 that I would love to have restored and use, but it probably is more work to use, lighting pilot / non auto between power ect. What do you all think? John
I have no idea where to look for 12 volt source, am I checking fuses somewhere, like the converter part? or lose wires? I'm willing to look if I know where, however, it has been in my driveway since Oct, not moved so I don't know why a wire would get loose? Thanks so far.
Many times it is the connections on the control board. You may have access by removing the outside cover. Be sure to disconnect the shore power. I don't know if this is a 2 way auto refer.
If you can find the circuit board, disconnect each wire and clean the connectors. Disconnecting and reconnecting may solve the problem.
Can you hear the ignition when it tries to start on gas?
Does it light and then go out?
Personally I prefer the old style where you went outside and lit the burner. The old style had remote lighting capability from inside. But they were not reliable.
