A/C Current Draw
For all those wondering.......Outside temp 76, inside coach 86. Turn on AC, fan on high. Current draw 18 amps @ 115 volts, or 2070 watts. Too much for a Honda EU2000. With fan on low it draws 17 amps or around 1955 watts.
I believe mine is a 13,500 BTU unit. (Coleman)

John,
Campgrounds with water, electric and sewer! Most of our boondocking is in the fall, when AC is not needed. I have run the AC off the Honda for a half hour or so, with the fan on low, and the rest of the circuits shut off.
Last 4th of July, we boondocked in PA for 3 days, with no generator at all. Packed the fridge with ice. We survived and had a good time.

always wanted to
build a 120/240 diesel genset. with about 25 to 30 kva of power. about enough for 6 trailers!
could be about the size of a towable compressor.
i'd either be the most popular or most hated guy at a camp ground depending on the temp!
we have a cat generator at work, about 4' wide 8' long and 5' tall. skid mounted. 60kva. it is quieter than most small generators people have at home.

John, get one of these and no one will complain. These baby's are quieter than an EU2000I!!!! You have to walk right up to them to see if they are running. I have seen them used at concerts too, for additional power. They sound like a big electric motor humming, and they are diesel.
BTW, our local electric utility, First Energy, has one of the units, a 1 MW unit at the sub station down from my house, for brown outs. It is an Agrekko unit.

two years ago we installed a dozen of these in janesville wis. for backup power for the general motors plant there.
they ran once when it got up near 100 deg. 1.3 mw each.
they run block heaters 24/7 for instant startup! each had a 1000 gallon fuel tank. container platform. truck, rail, air.
