We have a 2018 Flying Cloud FB, 50 amp electric. I'm investigating some battery upgrades. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out where the converter is or what manufacturer/model it may be. The power panel is a wfco model wf-8930/50. The spec sheet for that clearly states it is NOT the converter.
If it matters(don't think it does) its the Tommy Bahama edition.
TRue…what you are describing is the “Power Distribution Center”….which is fed power from the actual converter….likely a WFCO 8900. You’ll know the actual converter because it will have a small cooling fan in it similar to a desktop computer.
In my (electricians’) opinion….not every battery change is an “upgrade” (except perhaps in complication and expense.)
If you want more capacity, simply buy/install a larger battery of the same type as the original…OR, install an identical battery in parallel. Simple, durable, and inexpensive.
Wat I didn’t detail was that we have 2 std pb interstate batteries that are completely toast and we have some solar plans in the future, so this upgrade was in line with our plans.
I did read reference to the 8900 on the wfco site, but I’d really like to find and ‘touch’ the converter.
