What is the rating of the converter?

Tried a search and it brought up about a dozen or more pages of threads, so I thought I'd ask in a new thread. Does anyone know the current rating of the converter in a '75, 23' Airstream? I'm thinking of replacing it because it is old, and is making lots of noise, and want to get something about the same size.

It's approx 55amps.

That's off the top of my head.
BTW, even a brand new one will just as well...
You could try a newer and, different make.
Check out some of the threads for the make and models.

Steve, my 71 25ft trailer had a 35A Univolt in it. If you go for a 40-60A unit for your 23ft, you should be fine. I think that the higher the better. Uwe, Thanks for the link. I've looked at them and I'm going to order one...just have to decide which one/how many amps. Right now I'm leaning toward the XADC 60 amp model.

I also plan to replace most, if not all of the light "bulbs" in my trailer with LED light panels which will drastically reduce the current load. However, the larger converter/charger will still give a faster battery recharge.
