Tank Heaters Draining Bettery

We’re in NY with freeIng temperatures. Ran the tank heaters during the night and water pump some this morning. We’re plugged in yet the battery is in the yellow zone and if the pump runs it drops to red. Is that normal?

We don't have tank heaters, but it sounds like the converter/charger isn't working. The battery should stay charged when plugged in.
Ck the use/store switch and breakers. Test the batteries, make sure they haven't been damaged.

Where in NY? Here in WNY it was cool but nowhere near freezing. Watertown was 38* last night.

We were in Cuba last night headed to Glens Falls to visit family. I think you’re right. We didn’t have the inverter on.

The converter (not inverter) is on if you're plugged into shore power. However, in some models, unless you have the Use/Store switch in the USE position, it won't charge the batteries.

Inverter-Convert 12 VDC to 120 AC
Converter-Provide 12 VDC to the Airstream for lights and other 12 VDC devices when plugged into shore power. Optionally, charge the batteries if in USE position (on some models, other models will charge batteries when on shore power. It varies with newer models or owner modification.)

If the converter is unplugged, or the AC circuit breaker is tripped, or the converter output fuses are blown you will have this condition. Check all three items and see if you can restore power. I have had bad batteries blow the converter output fuses. New batteries and fuses and everything works.

Thank you to those who offered suggestions and yes, it was the Converter breaker. Didn’t seem to be a reason for it to flip but it did. All is well with that now. Good thing too. It is terribly cold for this time of year. Fortunately it starts warming up today. Now if someone could fix the Alde system. Alas, not sure that will ever happen.
Again, thank you to everyone.

Glad you're warm again. We are on Lake Erie 20m south of Buffalo...lake keeps us warm this time of year.
