We have owned the Progressive Industries 30 amp exterior unit for over five years. We spend over 100 nights per year in our Airstream and have never sheltered it from the weather. We also do not lock it to the post. I figure a determined thief can easily cut through the flimsy thin metal locking loop on the EMS and will likely take the power cord as well.

The protector has identified reverse polarity and low voltage a few times so I perceive it to be worth the cost.

Here is another thread I posted my install details in...... I think Bill Rector started it, and posted here as well. So far I am very glad to have it, although it hasn't "shut down" or "prevented power" from our coach on hookup. I fried a bunch of stuff in our motorhome years ago by plugging into an "RV" outlet that was wired wrong........Had one of these installed and it never happened again.

Great insurance against many electrical gremlins. Hope this helps.

we uses Progressive Industries 30 amp 35530 inside our as 22Fb under the inside cabinet

plus we have the remote display

it is always connected
