Surge Guard Hookup

Can anyone tell me...I recently purchased the portable version of the 30 amp Surge Guard. My question is this.Should the Surge Guard plug directly into the campground power outlet allowing the RV shore power cord to then connect between the Surge Guard and the Rv unit. Or, should I plug the Surge Guard into the RV unit directly then connect the RV shore power cord from the Surge Guard to the campground power outlet?Does it really matter either way?

Thank you for your assistance with my question.

Seems to me it is designed for plugging into the campground electric pedestal.
