I'm wondering if anyone else has ever encountered this? We spent a few days boondocking for the first time this week. First time out since the solar package was installed: 600w panels, Victron MultiplusII, MPPT 100/30 smart charge controller, 4 100AH Battleborn batteries.
We have a Champion dual fuel inverter generator that we run exclusively on propane, so we have 3060 watts from the generator.
Last week, after setting up at a National Forest site with no power, we used the inverter for A/C until set up, then hooked up the generator to make sure we didn't draw the batteries down too far. What we encountered with the generator was that it ran the trailer fine, A/C and even microwave, but the batteries - according to the GX Touch 50 monitor - continued to draw down into the next day. We headed out during the day with battery level reading 24%, but with full sunshine. Yet by that evening, the monitor showed our battery level down to 9%. We switched to generator and yet the monitor fell all the way to 0% by morning.

Here's where it get's weird. We packed up to head to another spot with plug in shore power with our battery level at 0%. Overnight on shore power it never rose. The next two days, with sunshine and shore power, the GX50 still read 0%. But the inverter showed "bulk" that indicated batteries were actually charging (with voltage reading of 14.25v), which later switched to "float" indicating that they were fully charged (with a voltage reading of 13.6v). Yet through all of this, the GX50 Touch still showed 0% charge, until hooking up to come home today. Stopping for lunch after approx. 3 hours on the road with full sunshine and DC to DC charging from truck, then presto. The monitor was back to showing 100%!
Has anyone else ever encountered such bizarre behavior? It seemed that we clearly had battery power in reserve, but had no indication of that on the monitor.
