Shore power not charging battery after battery replacement

I replaced the battery in my 2008 Safari Sport 22. Shore power no longer seems to charge. Suggestions on diagnosis or repairs?

Thanks

So what else is or is not working?

Will a long tow charge the battery?
Is everything electrically working when shore power is plugged in and running?
Are there any loose connections on the battery cables to the battery?

Did the previous battery hold a charge/work less and less well, or quit suddenly?

Does you model airstream provide you battery charge levels on your monitor? If so what are the readings?

Battery switch (use/store) is set correctly?

Any smells coming from the battery area?

Everything else seems to be working.

Battery switch is set to on.

Old battery was over 4 years old and was not stressed much. It was low in water and not holding a charge and we had a trip, so I replaced it. No smells.

I think the tow vehicle is charging it.

No lose connections.

Battery charge indicator showed low, and lights were dim which made me aware of problem even though on shore power for days.

I put an external charger on battery and it is fully charged.

See if your converter is supplying voltage. Could have blown a fuse near the battery bank while changing the batteries or could be converter. You should have at least 13.6 on the DC fuse board and it needs to make it to your batteries or will not charge. Might be something simple but hopefully you aren't using the stock Parallax converter if you bought new batteries.

Thanks. Is the converter behind the fuse panel? Sorry for the stupid question.

Thanks. Found it. I'll test it when I get shore power.

Recommend a multistage converter if you haven't already replaced the original.

Sounds like it might be a bad disconnect relay or switch. If it's stuck in the store/disconnect position then the batteries are disconnected from the converter. I'd put a charger on the battery, unhook from shore power and see if your 12v works.

The lights run when disconnected from shore power. I did put a battery charger on the battery to bring it back to life. We did accidentally hit the disconnect switch and the lights actually flashed on and off until I put it back on the "on" position. That seemed strange. Does that indicate something?

My Airstream is a 22 foot Safari Sport 2008 with only 1 battery. What multistage converter would be best?

Tested the converter and it seems dead, so ordered a new Progressive Dynamics from Randy based on his suggestion and my research. Will keep you posted.
