Installed a 300Ah LiFe battery in my 29', 1976 International and have been looking at safety equipment that will detect a meltdown of a LiFe battery.
What I am not understanding is how the safety equipment works if the LiFe battery is in meltdown.
Also, how do you check the integrity of an internal BMS?
Is there a web Alert that posts recalls of LiFe batteries and BMS devices?
My OEM battery wiring included a 100amp MRBF fuse on the positive battery terminal with all the wires attached. I used it with with the LiFepo4 batteries. Different brand, but it looks like this: https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Sea-Syst...29&sr=1-4&th=1
While the BMS should stop the same thing this fuse is trying to prevent, why not have something in case the BMS fails.
Blue seas is a quality fuse (made by eastman I think) and a good idea to have one at each + terminal.
You can remotely monitor bms IF you have a battery with comms that attaches to other networked equipment like Victron
Recalls? Why most go with an established battery provider vs established yesterday online company.
