Well I think my Converter has finally bit the dust. I still have a few tests to run once the thaw has finished and I have my baby back on my own driveway.
She is an 05 and I understand there are newer replacements that are more caring to the batteries they charge.
So for now I am going on the premise that I want to upgrade. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
When plugged into shore power and all lights and power connections indicate fine - should the converter not operate all the 12 volt lights etc - with or without a battery connected.
My battery is connected but has been drained.
The battery disconnect light does not come on and there is no clicking on or off. No DC at all.
The AC outlets all work.
Just want to confirm that this does mean that my converter is toast. All fuses and breakers are in good working order. But I get no DC power, that the parallax 7300 should and (Has) always worked the DC even with a dead battery when plugged into shore power.
OH PS - thanks Wulfraat for the link to Best Convertor - I will be purchasing the upgrade upon the above confirmation.

we moved to an integrated system using mostly victron energy parts.
we are very happy with them
we used their Phoenix_Multiplus_12v-3000W_120Vac-30A system as a key element of our AC?DC power systems
it can be monitored on a display inside as well as from the web
it does more than the converter it replaced. it can balance and decide when to use battery solar or AC. it will take care of charging the battery (lion or Lead acid) also
I was just saying what a bummer my converter is not working while I’m doing all the maintenance. No fans lights or radio ug.
A day in on the half interior removal...get to the night table where the battery disconnect switch is. Pull out from wall a few inches and carry on. Since my battery was dead the converter kicked in and it’s fan came on. Tried the lights and checked the battery disconnect light and it was now on too.
I came real close to cancelling my order for the upgrade converter, but had a long chat with the fella at bestconverters.com about all the annomolies I’ve had with the converter ( without saying I had already ordered one) and I was convinced that it will be money well spent.
In the interim of replacement I’m a happy DIYer right now with tunes, fans for drying out floor and lights so I can keep slaving away when it gets dark!
P.S I ordered the lithium battery compatible one as well as the pendulum. In the near future when I win the lottery I will be adding roof solar and upgrading my battery.
In prep I’m resealing the whole roof and have removed the old Wyngard batwing. Will replace that with the compact digital antenna down the road. That gives me room for two 100watt panels.

here is our AC and DC schematic
That system looks really cool. Thanks for the PDF. Not sure I’m ready for all that yet, as I might be selling ModPod in a couple of years. But will keep this system in mind for my future off grid boathouse in Nova Scotia.
