My prior RV experience is a coach with no converter. It had a Inverter/charger with built in transfer switch & smart charger. Plugged into shorepower main panel would feed the Inv/chgr and it would feed a sub panel for designated outlets (tv, microwave, misc outlets) and it would smart charge (3 stage) the batteries and all
12v ran from the battery bank. No high draw items where in the sub panel (AC, water heater, etc). When unplugged the inv/chgr would sense no 120 shore and take over in milliseconds to provide 120 through a sub panel to those circuits. Has any one else done this on their trailer? Thoughts? Opinions? am I missing anything else? I have factory solar and plan on experimenting with different battery types and ultimately upgrading to Lithium. (inv/chrg has programmable battery charge profiles so it can handle the specifics of lithium and others) Keeping the batterys charged is not the concern, combining the 2 separate factory systems is.
