Progressive EMS 30/50 amp question

I have a Progressive 30 amp EMS that I used for my previous 30 amp motorhome. I sold that and ordered a 2022 Globetrotter 25FBT with the 50 amp service. I now need to buy the 50 amp model ($$$$) and I try to sell the 30 amp EMS. The trailer can work on a 30 amp service if I don't use both AC's at the same time. Can I use an adapter from the 50 amp EMS to the 30 amp power source? Hope that makes sense.

I would think it would work. But knowing what a new GT costs it seems the $300ish for the 50 Amp model to allow you to use the full capability of your new Airstream isn’t a whole lot of money.

Yes, your new 50 amp EMS will work fine on a 30 amp hookup. Your old 30 amp unit will also work fine on a 50 amp hookup with a dog bone but you will still only have 30 amps.

I agree the right answer is to get the 50 amp EMS and be done with it. Maybe I can find someone who went the opposite way and trade my 30 amp for their 50 amp.

Pretty sure he's asking if he can use his new 50 amp EMS when there is only a 30 amp hookup available.

Can I use an adapter from the 50 amp EMS to the 30 amp power source?

Yes.
But I picture your EMS in the power pedestal, then a dogbone, then your power cable, 50 amp. So there are connections out in the weather, and possible on the wet ground, and you spent the $$$$ for 50 amp service but you're living on 30 amp.
Bite the bullet and just buy the 50 EMS. or (not equal) buy the 50 amp. SSP surge with just the LED's. It's a lot less expensive. I used one on a motorhome, and never had an issue.

Need to learn more about AC - alternating current .
A 30 circuit is 120ac , your not going to get 240vac from !
A 50 circuit adds to this for 240ac = that is 2 separate legs of 120vac each at 25 amps , again generally most RVs do not need 240vac , but uses the 2 separate 120 legs one to each air conditioner .
Some RVs may have 240v loads , but that , I think is less common .

With the lack of knowledge - do not use adaptors / dog bones , you have a higher percentage of causing damage .

Do as suggested , you bought a new expensive toy , get the correct accessories .

No, 50 amp service is 2 separate legs of 120vac each at 50 amps, a total of 100 amps, 12,000 watts.

I think you’re right. And the answer is yes.
