I will give a nod to PowerMax and BestConverter.com. I bought a Boondocker for my '74 Overlander which failed on it's first outing. I emailed BestConverter, which put me in contact with PowerMax, who shipped me a replacement right away. They even made sure it got to me in time for my July4th trip. The replacement unit has worked great since. I was very happy with the customer service from Best Converter and Powermax.

metal shavings...

Yep, lots of metal shavings around mine, too, when I changed it out in January. Many are still there....

I'm still happy with mine, by the way, after six months.

Haha!
Not YET! However I coulda me the 55watt sing pretty good!

Since replacing, I noticed zero flicker in the startup and run of florescent lights, a bit higher and stable voltage on "control" circuits of fridge and AC. Mostly observational. Also. With no load the battery charge for my 2 deep cycles seems to not heat them up as much. The pulsed cycle ( I forget the term at this time) is a plus for low sulfation too.

I probably goofed with spec of AMP rather than WATT. I told ya, I am no good with words...
