OOPS! battery not charging, water hook up spilling into reserve tank?

1) We drove 3 hours and the lights dimmed and went out. She is definitly not charging her battery while we drive! I tried manipulative therapy but it didn't work. ANY IDEAS!
2) we were hearing the babble of falling water but were not near a creek It seems the water hook up was some how backing up into the reserve water tank and then out the potable watertank fill door(?). made for a soggy campsite!
3) Every time we leave the campsite Mark turns off the water heater, and water. Is that necessary?

Okay, thats it, But we had a fun weekend!

Deb,consider putting a check valve in water line on the discharge side of water pump.....make sure wire connector is wired with a 12volt charge from van battery,if it is then check from trailer to make sure it is hooked up....Phyllis

Charging problem while driving

Do you have a two battery system? After looking at the wiring diagrams, I had trouble figuring how the first battery would be charged while driving. It turns out there was an undocumented brass shorting bar between the positive leads of the two batteries. Yours may be missing. If it is gone, the tow vehicle will only charge battery #2 and the Univolt will only charge battery #1.
If you post the model and year of your trailer, maybe someone with the exact same setup can chime in.
