I just received a notice from lifeline (I'm a dealer) that seems to be saying that the 'old' GPL-4C 6VDC golf cart battery has been replaced by two new golf cart batteries.
The new GPL-4CT seems to have the same specs as the 'old' GPL-4C, but it seems that the dimensions are different: the height is LOWER and closer to a normal group 24 battery. The height of the new one is 9.62", where the old one was over 10", generally making it hard to fit into a group 24 battery box. the new GPL-4CT should take care of this problem.
For all of you power hungry folks out there.....the new GPL-6CT is much taller....13"..... with the other dimensions the same. It weighs 82 lbs each compared to the 66 lbs of the GPL-4CT, and it has WAY more minutes of discharge compared to ANY other Lifeline. The reigning champ at the 25 amp discharge level used to be the GPL-4C with 220 amp/hours rated capacity and 492 minutes of discharge at 25 amps.
The new GPL-6CT has 300 amp hours of rated capacity at the 20 hour rating and a whopping 690 minutes of discharge at 25 amps. I can't wait to see what they cost
