New converter -- and now no shore power

Fellow Airstreamers,

This afternoon I went to install a new Progressive Dynamics 4655 in our 2015 Flying Cloud 25FB. Near as I can tell I followed the instructions to the letter. When I went to connect to shore power and test everything out the shore power fuse (not on the AS) instantly tripped. Alarmed, I re-checked my wiring and everything still seemed right to me. Positive to positive and negative to negative all around. I reset the breakers inside the trailer and the one outside as well. Tried it again and it didn't instantly trip, but after about 2 minutes of the converter not turning on there was a loud pop and bright flash from the left side of the converter. No fire or anything like that. Everything in the trailer still works on 12v, but nothing works on shore power.

I've determined one of these things must be the root cause here
1. I wired something wrong
2. I got a faulty converter

If anyone with knowledge about this sort of thing has any insight I'd greatly appreciate it. Photos attached of the new converter installed so you can check my wiring and set up. Thanks for taking the time to help me out!

Call Andy at Progressive Dynamic, he will walk you through and determine if it is defective. I had PD9260 that would pop the shore power GFCI, but only when the batteries were low. Eventually I had it replaced under warranty.
Edit: I just looked at your picture and are you sure you connected the DC +/- to 12 v distribution panel and AC to 110 v fuse panel. Looks to me that you reversed it??? Thickness of wires looks wrong. You may have smoked the converter.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give them a call today. I'm going to reach out to Randy over at Best Converter as well.
