new battery safety disconnect

I am thinking of adding an in-line battery safety switch. I guess my biggest concern is if I forget to turn in back to the on position will the electric brake system be disengaged and fail to work? I suppose the electric lift in the front would remind me, but still I'd like to know in case the lift is already up. Also am interested in knowing your thoughts on installation. Should I install the shut off on the neg. line or positive?

Your electric brakes work from the truck system. If you disconnect the trailer battery your breakaway switch will be disabled. I would install on the neg. line.
