My new AS came with old batteries

We picked up our 2017 27' FC in mid-April and love it, but....
I was checking the fluid levels in the batteries (Interstate) a few days ago and noticed they had been put into service in June 2016. My understanding is that the batteries could have lost some capacity it they were allowed to completely discharge while it was sitting on the dealer lot all for those 9 months. How can I tell whether these batteries are performing the way they should? After charging on shore power for a couple of days, the voltage is 12.8. With everything off but the propane detector, the voltage dropped to 11.9 in three days. Is there a better way to evaluate their condition? Should I ask the dealer for new batteries? Thanks

Take to a place that sells batteries, have them run a load and capacity test. That's the only way to be sure.

Hi

Your 2017 AS could easily have been built in June of 2016. The trailer should have a sticker that will tell you it's build date. If the batteries came out within 6 months of the trailer build, that's doing fine. What the dealer may or may not have done ... who knows. Many of them pull the batteries and keep them on trickle. Others just let the solar do the job.
