Hi

With BB lithiums, the BMS *will* cut you off before you do any damage to the cells .....

Hi

There are lots of charts for LiFePO4 based batteries on the web. They all tell a pretty similar story. BB has a plot on their web site. It's part of a comparison between lead acid and lithium. It's about 4 years old at this point.

Hi

We're in Georgia right now. The storm went over us earlier in the week. No idea if the house went under water or not .... we'll see soon !!!!

It is interesting watching Top of Georgia fill up for Labor Day. Still a *ton* of spaces left open at this point.

No controller conflicts

I have the standard solar panel prewire setup for 2021, lithium Battle Born batteries and a quote from AM Solar for 400w fixed rigid roof panels, 2000w inverter, new wiring, installed.

thought it would be good to know how the batteries alone work for us in our typical 2-3 nights "off power" scenario. decided to by a ZAMP portable 230w with controller for $1000 to see how it would work. we were 8 nights boon-docking last week in N Idaho, direct sun for 4-5 hours a day, watched movies, lights on, charging devices, ran furnace with fan, no charging issues, solar panel charged batteries perfectly each day, very impressed.

Yeah, see my issue is I have two portable suitcases and each one has its own controller. Right now my lithium batteries are showing 13.2 volts with around 10 amps going in. So the batteries aren't even close to full charge. However one suitcase is displaying 14.2 volts so it has stopped charging while the other shows 13.2 volts and it's going to town charging.
Zamp Support said this is normal since one controller thinks it's fully charged when it's obviously not. I thought the charging profile for the Zamp was 14.4 volts. The Victron Blue Solar controller for the rooftop panels just keeps chugging along full tilt boogie while there's sun and obviously not fully charged. I'm very confused.

Correct, that is why ZAMP sells portable panels without controllers

There's the rub. I was curious about multiple controllers (rooftop panels controller plus 2 controllers on the portable panels) but Zamp Support assured me they'd all play well together.

And now I see Zamp selling 2 portable suitcase kits but only one has a controller. I mean it's my responsibility but I clearly told Zamp my setup and they insisted it would work. I suppose it does but when one panel stops charging cuz it thinks the batteries are full then...

ZAMP told me if I wanted two portable panels, buy one with a controller and the second without AND they all would work together with my roof top fixed panels and its controller.
I only bought one and do not currently have the roof top system.
