Lifeline GPL 27-T Batteries
After discussion looking at this battery to replace factory Interstate batteries in 2017 27FB FC.
Anyone using that cares to comment on their experience - looking for a photo of a set installed if someone could share.
Thanks

I *think* they are a exact replacement.
FWIIW I just replaced mine due to mistakenly thinking they were bad....they were/are just fine. That battery is hard to kill!

For a direct replacement, the Lifeline GPL-24T battery is it at 80 A/H capacity and 12VDC. Many folks use the GPL-27T battery (100 A/H at 12VDC) as a replacement since it fills the battery box nicely and will also fit older boxes.
A lot of folks use the GPL-4CT, which is a 6VDC 220 A/H battery that actually gives you an additional 10 A/H of power for your systems, but either requires the longer battery box on the newer Airstreams or a 1-1/2" riser to be placed on your old box.
You really can't go wrong with either the GPL-27T or the GPL-4CT batteries!

Looking at photos it appears the terminals will need to be replaced ... is that correct?

Extreme 110ah XTR27-110 Batteries
I installed two 110ah Extreme 12v batteries and have been very happy with them. I did have to drill out the rivets to remove the battery box cover on our ‘17 25FB Twin but super easy to reinstall with cheapo rivet gun (my 5 year old son reinstalled the cover). Had to turn the batteries sideways, but has been a fantastic upgrade for us. I did have to get rid of the plastic base the old batteries were sitting on, but did not have to change any terminals. These batteries are very heavy/sturdy. Photo should be attached. Good luck!

On our 27FB, I removed the lead/acid 24 batteries from their box and replaced them with 27 AGMs, which I mounted in a battery box under the queen bed, and am now using the old battery box as storage.

A bit off topic, but curious if anyone has ever weighed the hitch with batteries in the box and then moved them (AGM) inside towards the axle/s and weighed again to determine weight savings on the hitch?
I would do a search on that, but not even sure what keywords to use...

Lifeline GPL 27-T Batteries
I jammed 2 group 27 lifelines in my battery box no problem. Photo attached. Big difference compared to the stock batteries in terms of usable amp hours.
This install was in an older 2008 battery box. The new battery boxes are taller of course. I choose 2 group 27s because I didn’t want to add an extension to accommodate the taller 6v lifelines.......

We've Tried to Kill This Battery - Unsuccessfully
Huge difference between our Lifelines and the ones that came with our new Airstream in late 2013. For whatever reason, we've let our Lifelines run down way too many times but they're still kicking with little degradation since we made the switch two years ago. They fit into our battery box without any modifications and require no periodic maintenance.
We are very happy with them - for us, boondocking three or four days a week most of the year, they have been well worth the extra expense. The biggest value has been peace of mind and seldom having to even think about our battery situation.

Terminals
To make things easy on the newer model AS battery replacement, just make sure whichever new batteries that you purchase have both types of connections (posts & studs). -will make life much easier

Nice photo. I won’t have to modify the box on my 2017. Figure I’ll swap out crimp end and bolt everything down. Thanks

Did you switch to a new converter or stay stock?

Did you make your cables or buy them? What’s the eyelet size on the lifeline terminals.

Nice day finally - changing terminals etc for the battery install. Pulled the old battery tray out and lots of moisture under same. Going to dry it out good before placing new batteries in the box.
Q: should I put in a generic type tray or go without; I know my new 27T will not fit in the current battery tray that held the Interstates.
I have a FC 2017 model. Someone has a photo to share with the newer battery boxes it would be appreciated.
Regards

I went without a tray in my 2008 since they were a snug fit.
While the batteries are you, I’d recommend that you spray down the interior of the battery box with some semi-gloss black rustolium paint for measure.
