Key to battery access
This is going to be dumb, but with all these keys to the trailer, we are trying to get to the batteries and none of the keys work. We have sprayed with lubricant and no keys seem to want to open the battery doors. What key works? Both access will not open. So either we lost the right key or I don't know what to think. Help!!!!! What key is supposed to work? The door key goes in, but doesn't do the trick.

I believe that it's key number CH501
Your Airstream dealer can confirm this, and hopefully also sell you a copy.

If you are in a campground, ask some neighbors if you can try their keys—a lot of RV keys are the same and work for all sorts of doors on all sorts of RV's. If the neighbors are really nice, you can take their key to a hardware store and get two cut (one to lose).

Your door key is a Tri Mark so no, in this case it's not the same. Besides, you said you had tried all the keys you had. Didn't you...? CH501 is only listed as the battery door.
This is all assuming that the locks are stock, unchanged ones, of course...

Airstream has a key code chart online here:
http://service.airstream.com/files/l...e1fba97772.pdf
Since 1990 they have been using a CH501 key for the battery access. I have tried to get the locks rekeyed to use one of the other keys but have not been able to find a locksmith who can do it.

Thanx all,
So it looks we lost or misplaced the key. Will go to a lock smith. And the other route of other rv owners. I had a locksmith make a key for our 70 Chevy truck just from him knowing the pattern or code, he seems like the route to go also. I just wonder where that key is. I thought they were all together, but maybe not, quite frustrating. So the generator more than comes in very handy til we can get to those batteries.

Don't forget to try your Airstream dealer, or Airstream themselves. They have a store, look them up on the web for phone numbers... Gotta be cheaper than a locksmith.

End of story.......... I printed out the codes and went down to the locksmith. I did ask the neighbor across the street, but his batteries are not locked up. So anyway, the locksmith can look up the codes and made me a key and now the access doors are open. Then I went through all the keys, so it is a mystery where they went. But............ it was my husband who was last to be working on the batteries. $8.50 to have a key made from code. I'm not complaining, so thank you all you brilliant ones.
