Inverter Plugs Sparking/Shorting when using

When I turn my inverter on and am on solar/battery power then try to plug anything in to any of the inverter plugs it causes large sparks, to the point where it looks and smalls like it will cause a fire at the outlet.
Turned inverter off and no further issues.
Do I need a new inverter?
Any ideas of what is happening?
No issues when I am on my generator or on shore power.

Is the device you are plugging in turned on or off whey you plug it in?

A DMM from your local big box store will tell you a lot. On sale they aren't going to be very expensive. Amazon will sell you one for not a whole lot either ....

Check the outlet, it should put out 120V AC and 0V DC. If that's not what it's doing .... you need a new inverter.
