What are you trying to accomplish? Do you have an air conditioner?

Will be only using the microwave and occasionally a hair dryer. Will not be using the AC.

I tow with a Rivian R1T which I charge at every campground (50A). Using an inverter I would not have to hook the BC up to the campground pedestal or to the truck's AC power. BC has 180W of rooftop solar with 2 100Ah Battle Born batteries.

I assume the 2/0 cable is adequate for the load, based on length? I have no idea how long that run to the battery box is. What is the black circle to the right of the battery, on the red cable?

Don't forget the fusing on the DC side. 2000W is about 166A or a 200A fuse or so. Type T is best, but a MRBF is probably good enough. Or is that the round thing?

From the wiring calculator 2/0 wire will get you to around 25' R/T, but I'd guess you know that.

If it's still a consideration, we get by just fine with our 1000W inverter, but then we don't use the microwave hardly at all even when plugged in. That would reduce the wire quite a bit. AS has 4AWG going to our inverter.

Last, I'd look into some sort of relay to automatically switch off the charger in case you forget. I'm pretty sure they exist but I haven't had the occasion to research them.

Thought about some mechanism to shut off the charger. I think will put the remote for the inverter right next to the breaker panel with a note about shutting charger off.

Check ampacity

Cant tell from the diagram but you got to be running some huge wires to the inverter. And probably need another 200ah of lithium. You need to look at a ampacity chart

I studied this closely for my 30’ Classic and just could not justify the work for the return.

pboomerx,

You have a valid point. We upgraded because we were going to Alaska, and wanted the capability to off-grid it at Provincial Parks. We have four 100Ah BBs, and a MP-II 3000. It's all about what you want to do with your RV.
