Oh boy

Seems like a whole lot of over engineering going in this thread. Leave it on use and you will be a happy camper. I doubt you will notice a difference in your electric bill unless you are using any of the appliances.

I'd like to think that somebody employed by AS periodically reads this forum. If AS is not ashamed of this thread, it ought to be.
I have a dump trailer with an on-board charger. I just plug it in and leave it plugged in for months at a time.
The storage where I leave my AS will let me plug it in there, but I cannot go in and out switching this switch.
Point #1: the technology exists to keep a trickle charge on a battery.
Point #2: AS customers want a trouble-free system.
This is how it should work:
Store means store and it can stay on this setting for months at a time. No light if you are not on shore-power. Red light if you are.
Use means use and the circuits are ready for use and the battery is getting a full charge. Green light.
If I have one major complaint about AS it is this stupid electrical system. It is the equivalent of fifth century medicine with "doctors" debating the efficacy of blood-letting versus garlic poultice. I appreciate that the members are willing to share their experience and expertise, but it shouldn't be this complicated.
Thanks

Excellent critical summary coupled with specific and very reasonable recommendations.

I note that my system, except for occasional screw ups on my part has been trouble free.

I do have a solar system quite capable of keeping my batteries charged at all times. Newer model Airstream trailers have a better converter that may not overcharge the batteries. I plan to upgrade my converter once the weather warms up ...

The current system is rather simplistic, but it seems to work fine. YMMV.

It's really quite simple... Store simply means; Head to the store in a couple of months when this little red light dies... to buy more batteries.

Happy April fools day! (and who's the fool?)
