Dropping in GC batteries in 2020 GT
Just drop in, they said. Issue 1 is the battery box insert tray for the 12s is bit too small for my Duracells. Anyone know where I can get a tray to fit? Or do I need one?
Second is the fuse on positive terminal is too high so box lid will short it. Any ideas on different fuse?

This is what I did to "drop in" my Duracell EGC2 batteries into my battery box with the same issues as you. First, I flipped the battery tray vertically to keep the batteries from sliding around inside the battery box and possibly shorting against the box. Second, I turned the inverter fuse connected to the positive battery post 1/4 turn and connected it to the bolt clamping the battery cable so it would fit without shorting against the cover. And finally, I got a longer and thicker series connection wire that I installed between the positive and negative battery posts so I could route that wire around the batteries without interfering with the battery caps.
Another option for the battery tray is to cut the lip off from one side so the batteries will fit inside the three-sided tray.

I get it. Forgot that two 6s in series now so inverter cables go to posts with battery cables

Dear AirMiles
I moved the fuse the way I believe you did and fit is fine but then had inverter issue, pass through was not working and neither was remote switch. Thought I had blown fuse on battery so got new one and installed as you see here. Pass through started working again but no inverter or remote switch working. After talking to WFCO guys (nice guys each working from home) he told me to put voltmeter on inverter. No volts from battery
So, does your pos side and fuse look like mine? I thought the angle against the bolt did not look right so maybe that or something with the fuse. When it stops raining will try connecting it on top to see if that works before trying to move away from the lid again

I would put the fuse on the other side of the bolt. And use a second nut on a longer bolt. There is not much contact the way it is.
In other words tighten up the battery clamp with a longer bolt then put the fuse on the treaded end with a second nut. Flip it over if it works better.

Found problem
The fuse was not seated properly so leaving on the bolt for pos post crimp but better. First question for something electric not working - “is it plugged in?” Navy Air mechanic school, Millington TN 1967
