Dead Batteries?

Well I thought my Interstate was plugged into shore power, but apparently I forgot to plug it back in after unplugging it a couple of weeks ago during a lightning storm. Now I have no readings on the battery gauges and "FAULT NO COMM" message for the Inverter. What do I need to do? I plugged it back into shore power right away. Will it come back?

Your Magnum needs a minimum battery voltage to operate the charger section, and your batteries are likely below that voltage point. The simplest way to bring it back is to put a regular battery charger on the Lifelines for an hour or so to enable the Magnum to 'see' that the battery voltage is above the minimum threshold and it will again start charging your batteries in the normal fashion with shore power.

Should I unplug the shore power now and hook up the charger first thing in the morning? And, I have two AGM house batteries... do I connect the charger to the positive side of one and to the negative side of the other? Or just to the +/- on one?

No shore power when using the battery charger and yes, positive of #1 to negative of #2.

I have a 6 amp 12 volt charger...is that sufficient? I hooked it up and the needle just bounced from 12 to 0 repeatably.

I would probably wither borrow or buy a better modern battery charger with a digital readout and a battery type selector switch. You will need it more than you think.
