Converter Question

I am restoring my 1963 Bambi, and I'm getting to rewiring the electrical system, and I have a few questions. I know I need a converter as part of the new system, but I'm not quite sure how it fits into the system. Does the shore power go into the converter, and then battery? Also, does the converter have bypass circuits to wire the 120 VAC directly to it? If someone could clarify how exactly these converters function in relation to the entire system, that would be much appreciated.

This is a quick answer. The converter get power from the 120VAC main fuse box. This might help too.

Randy at Bestconverter.com has a book, "Managing 12 Volts" which is excellent. I recommend it for anyone with a RV or boat. In it you will find everything you need to fully understand the "how" of a trailer 12 volt system.
