I remove both AGM batteries in the fall keep at the house so I can trickle charge them a couple times over winter, when disconnecting I remove both negatives first then positive and when reconnecting I reverse what has bothered me from the first time to present is the large arching when connecting the negative side...Normal ? I would think not but I’m no electrical engineer to the point of understanding all the intricacies involved.
Thanks

To Terry's point, it's a good idea to make sure everything in the trailer is turned off, and shore power unplugged to avoid the charger/converter coming on. This will help minimize the arc.
Makes sense, to your point, it’s aMaking the draw on the batteries that a person doesn’t realize or thinks is minimal due to “everything being turned off” would it help if a person initiated the storage mode for the batteries prior to disconnecting?

I leave the batts in the AS, disconnect switch engaged.
I use a switch on the LP detector, the AS use/store and a aftermarket battery switch, remove the stereo faceplate and make sure the antenna boost is off.
