change to a univolt from a convertor

I have a 68 ambassador land yacht international and the covertor charger hums pretty loud. My question is I do have a Univolt system out of a 72 land yacht but I have noticed it has several 14 gauge and bigger wires coming out of it while the convertor chager in the trailer don't have those wires, how do I hook it up? Are the wires because the fuse block is internal on the univolt and external on the convertor charger in the trailer?

Welcome to the forums. The wires are probably larger because the Univolt has a larger capacity, along with the possible realization the wires should be bigger in your trailer.
It would be a good idea to get rid of both Univolts, and get a new one. They're not that expensive, are quieter (the 1970's Univolt still hums), more reliable, and treat your trailer's battery better.

I agree get rid of both and go with an intelipower (spelling on a blackberry)
With acharge wizard. They are easy to install, quiet, and won't over charge your battery.
I forget where I bought mine I think it was bestconverters.com
Good luck
