BattleBorn teardown
For those that wondered if the BattleBorn batteries are worth the price, you need to see this video.

I have seen Will tear down other batteries. BattleBorn seems to be one of the best over the counter options. So far.

Yes, it is a very good video. Battleborn has its cells made in China, but they assemble the battery in the US in their own plant. Very well made as Will confesses in the video. All his other battery teardowns are hilarious to watch. None come close to what he found inside the case of a Battleborn.

It certainly gives you something to seriously think about whenever you see much less expensive lithiums and think you have hit the jackpot. With some things you really get what you pay for and Battleborn's seem to be one of those things. Now I just have to save my pennies

Did anyone else pick up on the upcoming update to the batteries?? Internal temperature regulation... that’s a big deal for those who want to winter camp, or even storage outdoors in cold climates.
Also interesting was the comment around floating at 13.4 being totally fine for the battery. Makes me think that with a solar panel(s) and controller taking care of the full charge (getting to 100%) demands, that the standard charger in newer Airstreams are fine to keep when on shore power.
Thanks for posting that, and I’ll hold off until the new internal updates are released in Q1.

Are the chargers on the 2018 Classic compatible with these batteries?

No the AS chargers are not fully lithium compatible. The latest ones are 3 stage chargers, which is good, but are not adjustable for the specifics of lithium batteries. They are setup for AGM or lead acid depending on the original batteries that came with the trailer.

Thank you for the reply. Consider I never dry camp I think I'll stick with my AGM batteries. I only camp with full hookups anyway.

I replaced my 4 Interstate 6V batteries (77 pounds each), with 4 of the Battleborn's last summer. (I'd replaced the stock inverter with a MSH30 Magnum Inverter/Charger in 2015 when I took delivery of my '15 Classic. I also installed an AM Solar package with 6 100W panels. The performance of the Battleborn's has been wonderful. I often run one A/C on batteries when we stop for lunch. I watched the Battleborn's carefully. Not only did they handle the load with ease (yes, I have Easy Starts on both A/C's), if it was a sunny day, they were fully charged when we stopped for the night. No doubt about it. Going to lithiums is an expensive proposition, but I like the fact that I've dropped several hundred pounds as well as the knowledge that there are umpteen cycles ahead of these batteries.
