Battery Quandary-Help!

Help! I thought I knew a bit about batteries, but after reading numerous old threads, I still don't know anything.

I have been keeping my trailer plugged into the house. Is this not good for the batteries? Been reading about batteries over charging and even boiling. The batteries in my trailer have not experienced any water loss.

I thought I could leave the trailer plugged in over the winter and that the batteries would be fine. Guess that is not right? Any suggestions on what trickle charger to get?

I just looked at my batteries again and it looks like the water has gone down some. It use to be right at the bottom of the fill holes. That is, level with the fill hole. Now it is just below the fill holes.

Distilled water, right?

Oh, I guess I better unplug the trailer from the house.

I chucked the old Univolt for a modern switched mode charger with a brain. It allows you to keep your trailer plugged in year around. It also monitors and conditions your battery. Using it will make your battery last longer.

As your AS is a 2004, I would recommend going back to AS.
