Battery Disconnect Switch

I have a 2017 FC 25 and am wondering about the light on the battery disconnect switch.

I can hit the switch up for Use or down for Store and the switch will return to the center neutral position so you can't tell at a glance which mode is active. Is this normal?

My question is that our monitoring light is always red and doesn't flash, turn on or off when I cycle the switch. Is this normal?

Also, I can hear the solenoid click in the Parallax each time I operate the switch. Normal?

As usual, when I have a question and consult the owner's manual, there's no mention of my issue

Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave. It is normal for the light to be on in both positions if you are connected to shore power, and hearing the solenoid is not unusual. Best, Joe

I have a 2017 FC 25 as well. The battery disconnect lights up red when there is power (from any source) on the "system" side of the disconnect device. With no shore power to your unit, it will operate as you would expect; namely it is red when disconnected and not red when connected. The confusion comes in when you have shore power connected. It will always be red regardless of which mode it's really in. It should also be noted that this disconnect only disconnects the Power Center from the battery. Other battery loads (jack, solar panel outlet, inverter, etc) are still connected. Here is a link to the BD0 disconnect used in the unit: http://www.rvtechlibrary.com/electri...disconnect.pdf

Good info and thanks for the link. Dave
