Battery and converter boxes?
I just gutted the front of my 78' and had a few questions about the battery box and the converter box. Both are plastic. My unit only came with one battery and one access door for that battery. I think that I want 2 batteries and I may just gut the current plastic box and build one inside that can hold 2 batteries. I have and idea in which I could uses 2 drawer slides so that I could access both batteries from the one access door. I am using just normal deep cycle batteries and I know that they need to be vented to the outside, but I'm not sure why they need venting? I also want to know if I could just make one big box that I could put both batteries and the converter in the same box? What type of gas are these batteries discharging? Should the converter be in a different box? Does the converter need to be vented to the outside and why? I had an old univolt that went caput and I just purchased a Paramode converter with the TempAssure. Any help would be appreciated.
