AGM Battery Brands
Hey everyone! I'm looking for recommendations on good brands to shop for new agm batteries. I have a 2011 Flying Cloud 27FB and currently have group 24 agms. I've seen some group 27s on Amazon that I think I can fit in the battery box but I want to make sure I'm buying from a good company that stands behind their products. What battery brands are you using and happy with?

A set of Lifeline 6-volt AGM batteries are probably considered the gold standard in the lead/acid category.
But they aren’t cheap.

Lifeline is the gold standard. You get what you pay for.

I just priced Lifeline Group 24 12V in Berea, Kentucky...$300, plus $50 freight charges....from one of their distributors.

You can get it for less... here is an example of $309 including shipping for the GPL-24. Shop around some...

It might be worth mentioning that the battery box on a 2011 might be too shallow for the additional height of the 6-volt packs.. so make sure that you look up the dimensions before purchasing a set.
Ether way, I’d imagine that Lifeline also makes a 12-volt group 24 AGM model that would fit the small box.
6-volt packs seem to have a far better reputation for durability and performance.

My Interstate 24M's are dead after 2 years.
I'm going to SAMSCLUB shortly to buy two Duracel 34M AGM deep cycles. ( if they have any. Been a battery shorage this year due to the run on RV's )
The dimensions are almost the exact same.
It's camping season for us.

LifeLine group 27AGM's will fit in the battery box with no modification. They squeeze in sideways, opposite of the group 24's and provide more amps.

I had the same question earlier this year...I went with the LifeLine AGM. No regrets. We just boondocked for three days, ran the generator for 2 hours total to top the batteries off. The batteries met all our needs for lights, water pump and Alde heat. Very pleased so far.

I got a "Universal" brand oversize battery from Best Converter. It has lasted at least 10 years.

I have a question about switching to 6 volt AGMs? Will the existing converter charge them the same as if you had two 12 v batteries?

The short answerer is, Yes. Wired in series 2-6V batteries will charge the same as 1-12v battery.
Many other factor come into play. like, type of battery(s) you have or converter/charge controller you are using to charge them, ETC.
