Adding Battery?

Currently I only have one battery in our "78" Ambassador. There is also only one door. I would like to put in new Intellipower convertor and add another battery. Can I add another battery without putting in another door? Would it need to be vented? Has anyone done this. Can I just buy battery box, battery, and cables needed to connect to existing battery? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

hi bob

YES x2.

-even sealed agms needed to be vented to the outside.

but the 2nd OUTSIDE access door isn't required.

-a 2nd "sealed with a lid" battery box can be added right next 2 the oem box...

with a duct/conduit running INTO the oem box, which then vents outside.

assuming u plan to use 12v cells wired in parallel, the wires 2/from the charger need to be ~equal lengths

and the BOTH batteries should be the same age/rating/design/size and so on...

cheers
