87 Sovereign Converter wire

Good day. Changing the old converter to a new one. Old one had 3 wires, red and white were larger gauge, however the black one was a smaller gauge and was connected to old converter where I've highlighted with a blue circle.
New converter only has 2 connection points, any idea where I should connect the smaller gauge black wire?
Thanks, our first Airstream and we're pretty excited!

Just cap the little black wire off and leave it. It is the wire that makes the light on the instrument panel glow when connected. The modern converters do not have an output that supports this function. The old Univolt had a output that was between the unrecrtified and the rectified DC. That output is just not available any more.

Sorry to ask, but when you say "instrument panel" do you mean the bar at the front of the Airstream that shows battery level, tank levels etc...?

If so, then it only affects the "glow light" but won't interrupt power to this panel, correct?
Thanks again

That's correct. Only the light to indicate you are plugged-in/charging, nothing else.
