All, I believe my converter box no longer works. When plugged in without the battery hooked up I am not getting lights. When plugged in with battery hooked up I get lights but the battery is eventually drained dry. Do the wire hook ups to the converter look correct (see pics)? I ask because there appear to be a lot of unused fuses.
Definitely need to replace the univolt with a new multi sage converter. There are several threads on how to do it - pretty easy if you’re a little bit handy. While you’re at it you can change out the fuse panel to a blade style and save yourself some grief when a fuse blows - the old style glass fuses you have are getting harder to come by, while the blade style fuses are available almost everywhere
So Boondocker BD 1235CL (35 Amp 4-Stage Converter/Charger) looks okay. Is it a problem that is says 35 amp when the current one is 30 amp? Also, because it will go as high as 14.7 Boost Mode Output do I need to update the fuses to support higher voltage?
It is your lucky day that the old one quit. The Boondocker is a good swap. 35 Amos is not a problem. No, you do not have to change fuses. If you drill the rivers on the unibody cover and take it off you will find enough wire inside so that you can just hook the new boondocker to the old wires. Plug off the little wire that goes to the panel monitor light. Everything will work but that indicator light. You will get a better charge on your batteries and they will not need as much added water.
