12volt system

My 1974 overlander is only getting power when plugged in. I had the battery checked and it is fine(95% charge).Any idea of where to look next? Thanks

Make sure the battery cables are installed securely at both ends, check for fuses in the current path from the batteries to the fuse block (making sure the fuses are good AND the connections are good.)

Do you have an old 12V converter with built-in fuses? Or do you have a separate fuse block?

On the theory of "check the easy things first," make sure the battery disconnect is set to "on" or "use" (whichever label it uses for the power-on position).

Then, if that doesn't solve the problem, check the fuse for the converter or inverter/charger, whichever it is you have.

If that doesn't solve the problem either, then cleck back in and someone who knows better than me will chime in with the next step.

On edit: Looks like someone already has!

On the early 70 models there were fuses on the battery cables . a fuse for both neg and positive. On later models they put the fuses in the fuse box.
