Should the interior 12v lights dim and fluctuate as other lights are turned on.....when the battery is fully charged and plugged into shore power ? Sometimes the interior lights are a bit hesitant to come on and it takes a couple flips of the switch. Do I have a grounding problem ?
It's a "new to me" trailer as i bought it from my neighbor, but it has been sitting for the past 25 years and all of the connections, etc are dirty. Have cleaned the fuse contacts in the Univolt and on the battery terminals. I think it's a ground issue but not 100% sure.
bet that univolt is bad.... the switch is for sure. always remember that 90% of 12 volt issues are grounding issue though. I would replace that obsolete univolt with a new intellipower. also the switch to be certain.

I had this problem recently and it was the switch in the front overhead light. Could also be a very old battery. Try taking the battery out and test the lights on just the univolt.
The switches in the overhead lights tend to build up corrosion on the contacts. Take them apart carefully as there are one or 2 very small parts. Clean the metal contacts with emery cloth. Also clean out the light sockets.
