110 outlet not charging batteries

I plug my '24 PB Twin in at the storage unit to regular 110 outlet and I see the AS power cord light is on but I see nothing getting to the batteries. Any ideas why I can't even get a trickle charge to offset propane monitor and other items. Victron monitor shows -4.60A and -58W, with everything shut off and 110 hookup. Help please AS Forum

Are you still getting 120 volt power at the inside outlets? Also is the breaker ON for the converter charger? Check the main breaker. I have to assume you are only on a 30 amp inlet. If you have a 50 amp inlet with an adapter the charger might be on the other leg of the panel. Also if you have the battery switch in store mode the battery may not be able to charge. Lots to check.

On a 30 to 50 adapter I thought it bridged both legs together? I thought to ask the OP if the battery switch was on but seeing there is a 4.6 amp draw it seems unlikely that the battery switch would be off, the propane detector takes less than 1 amp IIRC.

All true, but if everything is off where is the 4.6 amp drain coming from? Seems like a lot for miscellaneous parasitic drain. I'm not sure what upgrades the PB might have which would contribute.

Seems like about the right load for propane detector + fridge + base load for the inverter

I'd guess the switch is on, it might be the refrigerator. On a spanking new trailer I'd guess that it's a breaker as well, the charger should be working. Anyways, I like a mystery.

The mystery continues. Breakers are all on. Outlets in RV all work when in OnBoard Mode. Refrigerator is off. I do have 3000 watt inverter and 400 amp hours of Battle Born batteries on board. The Solar is charging it slowly. Power from house outlet lights up power cord into RV but nothing is getting to batteries still. Boondocking this weekend, pray for sunshine.

While it's not a long-term solution, if you want to be ready for boondocking this weekend and your batteries aren't getting fully charged by the solar system, you might consider an external charger to get them topped off before the trip. You'd probably be relying on the solar during the weekend in any event, no?

Hi

A few observations:

1) "All breakers are on". Did you cycle each one of them? Without a full cycle they may not reset. With a ground fault breaker, it may need to be cycled with power present.

2) Are there any lights showing on the converter / charger? This can be a bit iffy and depends very much on the model you have as well as its location.

3) Have you done a multimeter check of the converter? ( = turn off shore power, measure the voltage at the converter. Turn on shore power and see if the voltage goes up at least half a volt).

Best guess: the converter charger is no longer among the living. Next best guess, you have a blown fuse / loose wire somewhere.

Maybe grasping at straws, but do you have a Victron Multiplus 12/3000 installed at the factory? Reading the Tradewind thread which has the Victron MP my understanding is it's set up for 30A charging. There are workarounds for this.

Apollo 13ish - follow the procedures in order:
Battery Disconnect Light ON
On Board Mode or Away Mode either one works
Inverter ON
Shore Power ON
AC Mode ON

Now 1738 Watts coming in, Solar cranking in 353 Watts, battery quickly went to 14.1V

Problem solved. I unplugged and replugged in 3 times. It took an hour plus trying things.
Thanks for the all suggestions, great first experience on Air Forums

I only have a primitive 2023 GT, so I'm not familiar with the space-age stuff in the Pottery Barn. So it was some setting on the control panel? Doesn't seem like the inverter would have anything to do with it.

Hi

"Battery quickly went to 14.1V" ?

How quickly is that? At (say) 50A of charge current, a dead 200AH lithium should take 4 hours to fully charge. If it charges in < 30 minutes (which to me would be "quick") that's not a good sign.
