I also moved my controller inside and the entire system works much better. I am planning phase 3 which will include Trimetric monitor and charge controller. Mine is not programmable. I also updated my batteries to 2 6v golf cart in series. Plenty of juice.

Another reason why soldering is not a recommended connection method for RV or marine use. 
Proper crimping and heat shrink is not only generally accepted and preferred, but far superior, especially according to the ABYC.
