Yamaha or Honda?

Admittedly it would seem insufficient, but it does a pretty good job outfitted and cooled as I mentioned above.

I just spent two months in southern New Mexico, the worst day, when it was about 105, the inside temp was briefly 84 in the worst heat of the afternoon.

For the most part the temp stayed in the mid to upper 70s in the hot part of the day. Not too bad for being in full sun parked on asphalt.

I forgot to mention that my wood interior likely helps avert a lot of heat transfer though.

I meant to do so as a disclaimer but I forgot. Click image for larger version

I was on that project, one day I even recorded the temps about every hour or so... But I lost my record..

Well, it turns out that my better half bought new living room furniture today, I told her how much I spent, all she will tell me is "I spent more".....

We have the Yamaha EF2400iSHC. Would have had no problem with a Honda. The 2400 was just the right size and weight. Have also ran a Yamaha VMAX outboard and Yamaha Grizzly ATV for years with no problem so I was not concerned about the performance of the Yamaha. No regrets so far. OBTW, runs our AC with no problems.

I am seeing that it runs 11000 BTU Air Conditioners. Anyone using the Yamaha 2400 to run a 13500 BTU unit?

Yamaha or Honda Generator?

There are lots of reviews on Amazon that say it will, and perhaps as many as 10% that say it will not.

It is a gamble... Although maybe not so much with a hard start capacitor installed in the AC.

A person should read the reviews and weigh them before jumping in with both feet.

I gambled with starting a forty year old not so efficient unit and came out ok.

In the end I am glad I took the risk, although the unit was not entirely without consequence with my somewhat unique setup.

Update to follow!

Improvise, adapt, overcome....

Be sure to chain it, though that will only slow them down. Try stencils with your license plate and engraving the plate number on it. I have not lost one but a camper near me did in daytime, while they were inside....

Good advise. I intend on making a secure enclosure of sorts, haven't worked out the details yet, and it might be winter before I get around to it.

Is the Yamaha a single speed or does it have an eco switch?

It is variable speed depending on load, there is no switch to control the engine speed whatsoever.

It does what it is going to do and that is it, no intervention is possible.

On my day long test run it did do well at adapting to changing demands.

Will your new genny fit under a tonneau cover?
I have the Yamaha 2400 and it fits nicely under my tonneau cover on my 2014 Silverado 1/2 pickup.
