where to buy a generator

We bought a Honda 2000ei at Mayberrys last year. We recommended our friends do the same (but they didn't). Now they want one. They claim Mayberrys is no longer an option. What's the word? Is Honda still the best choice? What's a good price and where should they buy it? I know this sounds like one of those 'I've got this friend...' stories but it's true. They feel a little sheepish about borrowing our generator when we dry camp. Thanks in advance.

Mayberry's no longer lists Honda on it's web site. Perhaps they lost their dealership for this line. Try Hicklins

Try Wise Equipment ( http://www.wisesales.com/HondaGenera...errer=GoogleAW )

We purchased 2 EU2000's a few months ago and their price was the best we could find in the country.

Dave,

I've been lookin around for one for a bit. Can you share what they charge for one? The website doesn't list price.

I'm looking for my receipt and haven't found it yet -- my total bill came to $2045. That included:

- 2 EU 2000 generators
- 2 covers
- one Parallel switch/outlet
- 12v charging kit.

I believe the generators were around $850 to $880 each.
Sorry I can't be more specific. I know I did several shopping searches (froogle.com, dealtime.com, pricegrabber.com) and they had the best price. They were also very good to work with. The shipping company (DHL) actually shipped the generators to a guy in Iowa -- I live in Arizona. Fortunately the guy in Iowa called me to let me know he had my generators -- I love the honesty of people in the midwest. Wise Equipment took care of the problem and I had my generators within 3 days -- great service.

That is a really good price. All that I've seen (except on eBay) have been upward of $900+.

I'll keep this place in mind once I get a few more bucks together! Thanks again!

I think Camping World has them on sale right now, I got a flyer from them a few weeks ago and it seemed like the prices were pretty good. I bought my 3000 from the Honda dealer - boy was that a mistake.

Another good site is AAA rental in Colorado Springs. I bought my EU 3000 for $1591.00 as an INTERNET sale and no sales tax. 719-593-7008

Just goes to show it REALLY pays to shop. Mine was about $800 more from Honda Town in Fort Worth.

I checked with Wise Equipment and the current price on a Honda EU2000 is $885. I believe that includes shipping.

Thats too bad about Mayberrys. I've been looking into generators since we got our trailer and trying to save up money for one. Just about the time I save up half, they raise the prices!!! Glad to know there are some other lower cost options. At one time, there was another thread that listed a Honda dealer in Colorado that was low priced. (Close to what Mayberrys was charging, $845.00) Wonder if they still have a low cost deal??
