Solar Powered Clothes Washer

This worked much better than I expected...
A home-made 60W solar panel, a 5 gallon bucket, an old window lift motor, some pvc pipe and a salvage boat propeller.

Instant clothes washer.

I'm using it to wash my polishing rags since Mrs HiHo says they aren't allowed in her washer.

Looks like it would be great for "fine washables" when boondocking -- Love them hi-tech innovations!

The real question is, what would Mrs. Tin Hut have to say about it on the back page of Airstream Life?

I just have this image of Mr Hut snagged on top of a Hwy Dept pole by his boxers while trying to score a new solar panel while Mrs Hut is fussing from ground level about her underwear having Nuvite stains...

Maybe they will re-engage in Airstream Life.

Gee, we had a solar powered clothes dryer in the backyard when I was a kid. It would have been a good match for the washer.

Wow. I hadn't thought about that! We should team up and apply for a grant.

WOW!! What a great idea! I think this qualifies for tax credits! Please don't let Mrs HiHo talk to my wife about the rags/washer thing. Right now, I'm still getting away with using the washer.
