Hello,
We just joined the forum yesterday and are enjoying looking through all the information here.
We really like being in campgrounds where things are more isolated, and a ton quieter. We are going to be looking to run a solar/lithium setup that will allow us to go without hookups ideally for a week or more without needing to plug in to anything. While we currently have a Yamaha generator, the plan is that we will not end up needing that and will end up selling it.
We are looking at either a 16RB or 20FB and have ultimately decided on the 16RB because of the mobility. We like being able to go to a majority of campgrounds in the national parks and not having to worry about being too long to fit. It seems like a lot of places have a ~30' limit which is combined between the tow vehicle and trailer. Are folks having difficulty getting into places because of length? We currently have a T@B 320 Outback which is 15' ball to bumper, and our TV is a 2015 Tacoma Off Road w/tow package. Without being concerned with mobility, we would probably choose the 20FB (though we both REALLY like the panoramic windows in the bedroom in the back of the 16RB).
We have started talking with AM Solar about putting things together, and it sounds like we can get 180w on the roof, and then an additional 230w in a suitcase. We are wondering if anyone has experience with the 16'
Caravel and putting solar on the roof and how many panels would fit up top?
Thanks!
