Running Air Conditioner

I am a beginner owner. I have a 2018 Airstream Interstate XLT. If it is a hot day and the vehicle A/C is not enough to cool the back of the Transit, can you run your generator to operate the cabin A/C while driving?

Unless you upgraded your Interstate to a massive inverter (converts 12VDC to 120VAC) and lots of battery, no. The vehicle A/C compressor is powered by your engine, the "house" A/C is powered by 120V electricity.

While it is possible, you would then need to find a way of getting a engine powered generator installed to provide AC power...which is likely possible, but I am not familiar with AS offering that from the factory.

Class ‘A’ motorhomes and class ‘C’ rigs use their onboard generators for this.
